Australian Leisure and Hospitality
Design for multi site operators is an important part of RED's portfolio.
Often this involves creating a palette of finishes and a modular fit-out concept that
can be replicated at different sites throughout Australia.
RED has worked on 50 sites in the hospitality sector over the past 5 years, with work
including the design of hotels, pubs, liquor stores, bars, cafes and restaurants.
"The hospitality industry is focused on using every part of their venue effectively for
as many hours in the day and days in the week as possible. So it is important
that they are able continue trading during any building or refurbishment work," said Roy
Tavenor, RED principal.
For RED the strategic planning that goes into hospitality design projects is as important
as the finished product.
Practical concerns such as planning, customer flows, logical adjacencies of
different areas of the venue, sightlines and how to use lighting, graphics and signage
to improve the customer experience are the behindthe- scenes details that
impact on the client’s return on investment.
"Often brands are designed for two-dimensional use.
RED works closely with clients to re-engineer their brands into three-dimensional brands
that not only attract customers but give added life to the exterior," said Roy Tavenor.
