The subject site is located within the Williamstown Major Activity Centre.

The main aim of the design concept is to restore and enhance the existing building and reinstate its contribution to Douglas Parade, the Centre and the city, both aesthetically and by introducing a traditional retail offer.

The supermarket will sell not only organic products, but will promote environmentally responsible and health conscious choices. An ancillary café, with a total of 25 seats inside and 20 seats outside, will operate from the front of the store, offering customers the opportunity to purchase light refreshments, such as a focaccias and coffees, primarily made from goods which are sold from the premises.

Williamstown will become home to the first Greenland store with visions to expand to 4-5 stores around Melbourne suburban shopping precincts.
